Interesting Tax Proposal By Al Gore?
In this recent TED talk, speaker Al Gore wonders what he could say to promote a greater sense of urgency about the climate crisis. I don’t have an answer about that, but in order to get political action in his direction, he might talk more about the tax change I think he proposed in this video, which I missed hearing the first time I played it.
The former veep mentioned a tax on carbon among other things, which isn’t much of a surprise. What is surprising is that Gore claims it would be “revenue neutral,” and here’s the kicker, it would replace “the tax on employment.”
Does this mean he would call off the IRS on wage earners? This sounds like something that could unite the left and right against the “fascist center” (to quote Brad Linaweaver).
