Fuel-Free Solar Vehicle Less Than $2,000

Although this three wheel solar “photon drive” scooter doesn’t have air bags, air conditioning, OnStar(tm), or a proper machine gun turret–it will probably fall under most states’ “motor vehicle” regulations anyway, despite Jeff Dekzsty ranting against “motor car” fatalities. And oh yeah, where are the anti-lock brakes?

And even though I’m a pro-2nd Amendment NRA gun rights supporter, but not necessarily of NRA’s fascist crime bill suggestions when they sound like more Patriot Act rubbish (see this post about U.S.A. being #1 on incarcerations per 100,000 population), I can only be so disturbed by Dekzsty equating guns to “armies for the oil dictatorship.” Hey, what about our peaceful homegrown militia? We’re not the army, guy! (Let me take my anti-psychotic pills–ah yeah, that’s more like it).

Dekzsty’s team found that the nanosolar film photovoltaic breakthroughs, ultracapacitors replacing batteries, and magnetic hub drive (none dare call them “motors”) allowed them to achieve their goal of continuous operation in sunlight, without recharging. Their success in making it work for under two grand makes this the best vehicle ever.

The only time you might bring this to a gas station is for a 30 minute solar charge while getting a snack and taking a potty break.

Of course, some nutritionally endowed, skinny-challenged, Porkins types might need a sturdier structure, a greater solar collection area, and a bigger motor *smack!*, er, I mean magnetic drive or whatever, but that’s life. Good work, Photon Drive Light Riders!
